Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Tellis collects when you create an account and use the product, and what we do not store.
Account information
When you sign up or sign in, we collect your email address and create an account for you. You can sign in with email (magic link or password) or with Google OAuth. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which stores your account credentials and session securely on our behalf.
We also store a small set of account metadata in our database, linked to your user ID:
- narratives_used — how many narratives you have completed on your free trial
- subscription_status — whether your account is on a free trial, active paid plan, or cancelled
- onboarding_dismissed — whether you have seen and dismissed the welcome modal
We use this metadata to enforce trial limits, show your account status, and improve the first-time experience. We do not use it for advertising.
Your narrative content
Your input — documents, transcripts, interview answers, and refinements — is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your narrative. Tellis does not store this content. It is not logged, saved in our database, or used to train any model.
Usage analytics
Tellis collects anonymous usage events through Vercel Analyticsto understand how people move through the product — things like "narrative generated" or "narrative copied." These events contain no personally identifiable information and no content you enter into Tellis.
Cookies
Tellis uses session cookies to keep you signed in. These are set by Supabase when you authenticate and are required for the product to work. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data. We do not store your narrative content or brief inputs in our database. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Third parties
Tellis relies on three third-party services:
- Supabase — handles authentication, session management, and account metadata storage. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic — processes your input to generate narrative output. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel Analytics — collects anonymous usage events. No personal data. No content.
